Some years ago I was challenged by one of my sisters to write a book of short stories. I did write the book,writing by hand and gave it to her and she never did mention what became of it . During the writing of that book I came across the definition for a limerick. I tried putting a few limericks in the book and to me they did sound good. It was then I said but maybe I could try writing poetry. I did not set out to write any genre of poetry but wrote to reflect my emotions, memory and and my life situations. Over the years I continued writing, my life appeared to one constant struggle as I tried to cope with things not going right. Life to me became a constant fight and from then I told myself that if I ever published those poems I would name the book "Ready to Rumble". When I got the opportunity to migrate to the USA I took the poems with me.Last year I got the opportunity to self publish through Create Space. A promise that I had also made to myself was that if I ever publish a book of poetry I would include some poems about my homeland Jamaica.
