The God Fighters (Religion, Confusion and Restoration)

It is better not to have a necessary medical procedure and die rather than take the risks associated with the medical procedure and miss out on Jehovah's future paradise. Death was chosen but was this an act of faith, being a martyr or committing suicide?
Christians are told that the Old Testament is no longer applicable but at the same time Christians are being told that the Moral Laws in the Old Testament are still binding on all men. The Moral and Ceremonial Laws were given to the ancient people of Israel. When did they become applicable to all men and who determines the ones that are applicable?
The same area of New York State that was at the center of The Second Great Awakening of the 1840's that saw millions coming into the church also produced new denominations and prophets. The fuel for this revival was the hellfire preaching which the new denominations rejected and declared that they wanted a restoration of primitive Christianity. The early Christians had to rely on the personal testimony of the disciples that were trained by Jesus Christ and the visions of Paul. More than a thousand years of having organized Christianity and the completed Bible had passed so how was it possible to return to the primitive?
These and other questions are explored in The God Fighters (Religion, Confusion and Restoration).  A layman's look at the Bible, religion and the confusion that is associated with both today.

The God Alternatives (Religion, Evolution and Man)

If a group of total strangers were asked to describe one person among the group then that description would have to be based on what the eyes can see (the physical). If however that same person's partner or best friend was called in and asked to give a description of the same person then no one will want to hear about what anyone with eyes looking on can see, they  want a description of the inner qualities (the spiritual). A great artist or sculptor can create an image that is better looking than the most perfect physical specimen of man but it is the inner qualities that make one man stand out among men and it is these inner qualities that really count.
This is the opening argument in The God Alternatives (Religion, Evolution and Man) that there are more than one aspect to man because there is the physical aspect which is obvious and everyone with senses can discern and there is the spiritual aspect of man also. The spiritual qualities does not necessarily refer to religion because everyman is subjected to them irrespective of religious beliefs or having no religious beliefs. All men admire honor, courage, bravery, honesty, truthfulness  dependability etc. and see these as the true qualities that makes a man. On the other hand pride, haughtiness, guilt, shame, covetousness, malice, meanness, hate etc. are seen as qualities that do not tend to harmonious living and are frowned on.
It is to the  reality of both physical and spiritual qualities in man that religion and evolution try to give answers.
The God Alternatives (Religion, Evolution and Man) is a layman's look on the subject of religion, evolution and man. Religion and science are sometimes opposite in their teachings and understanding of man and both make their teachings readily available. In this book a layman looks and compares both the teaching of religion and evolution.
NB (Both religion and evolution have their experts that defend their teaching but it is the layperson that they are trying to convince and convert. If only  the experts understand their teachings then they need to pack up what they believe because they are so miniscule because the layperson comprises more than 99% of the audience.
