(An excerpt from "An emperor for the animals"

Ingor the Tiger, Wyzel the wolf, Shyster the fox and Jerquee the coyote were the principal animals that were gathered for the meeting. Ingor the Tiger indicated that there were three issues that needed to be discussed if there were any chance to move forward with any further planning for future events.
1.       Can the flies, ticks, lice and fleas be trusted not to reveal their secret plans to the birds and animals
2.      Can The Light Bearer be trusted
3.      Can man really be defeated
Ingor Tiger thought that because he bore the title of king of the jungle and that because of the secret pact that he had made with The Light Bearer and he wanted the other three animals to know who was in charge of the meeting so he gave a command.
“Fly, tick, lice and flea we are commanding you to come and present yourself before us so that we can have a frank discussion,” Ingor the tiger roared in his most commanding voice.
There appeared to be no perceptive change or movement but after a time fly, tick, lice and flea all came together to form a small enough group for the animals to see. Tick remained hidden safely stuck to their skins to ensure the security of the flies, lice and fleas.
“The plans that the birds made in a secret meeting came back to our ears and that is not good,” Ingor the tiger roared accusingly.
“You took the advice of fox and wreaked revenge on many innocent flies, ticks, lice and fleas; I can imagine how you great big animals must have felt good exterminating small innocent insects. When we come together as a group one of Ingor the tiger’s paws could crush us all,” the spokesperson for the fleas declared. “This was not just and fair to us because we had done you no injustice.” The flea looked at the four animals with contempt as he spoke.
“They are not all present because I can feel something crawling in my fur and right now some are feeding,” Shyster the fox exclaimed with a bark.
“That coming from you Shyster is an understatement of extreme proportions. Don’t we all know how deceptive you are? We had to secure ourselves by retaining something with which to bargain if the need should arise,” a flea said in an unperturbed way.
“Misdeeds must be punished and you broke trust. You are privy to everything that we say and do and so we cannot have you going around spreading our plans and telling tales,” Ingor the tiger growled to the flea.
“To punish and exterminate the innocent fleas, lice, flies and ticks was not right,” responded the flea adamantly.
“Innocent!” exclaimed Wyzel the wolf “Do you call yourselves innocent? How many lives of birds, animals and man have you been responsible for taking? I would like you to answer truthfully,”
Wyzel the wolf howled because he raised his paws to crush the flies, ticks and fleas in his anger.
The temperament of all four animals was well known to the flies, lice, fleas and ticks and it was a sure thing that not one of the four was known to keep his solemn word. Ever since the four had followed Shyster the fox’s advice the flies, ticks, lice and fleas had gone on a breeding spree. They had remained hidden in the fur of the animals undetected and unknown to the four animals. When Ingor the tiger’s had earlier given the  command to appear before the four animals all the ticks, fleas, lice and flies had taken up  previously assigned battle station. It was never confirmed whether Wyzel the wolf intended to crush the insects or not because the order had been given to attack at the first sign of hostility. The first wave of attack came from the flies which flew into the eyes of the four animals then all flies, ticks, lice and fleas went on an all-out attack that lasted for hours.
Ingor the tiger, Wyzel the wolf, Jerquee the coyote and Shyster the fox experienced a misery that they had never before experienced in their lives. They jumped, hopped scratched, kicked and rolled as they tried to be rid of the flies, ticks, lice and fleas.
“Call them off or we will punish you again by killing and exterminating you.” Ingor the tiger roared the command.
“Look around you and you will see that is just what you are doing, but for every one of us you kill we lay a dozen eggs to replace each one,“ a louse responded.
“Okay call them off and let us negotiate a truce,” Ingor the tiger changed his tone and chuffed.
“No way, we have to teach you all a lesson that we are mightier and more powerful than you. Should you ever again decide to take revenge for wrongs that were not done to you let this be an ever constant reminder. We are sufficient in number to attack until you scratch your skin bare,” a flea tauntingly jeered.
“Someone should remind me that these animals blood is sweet even if they are somewhat on the skinny side,” this speech came from a tick that paused long enough from sucking blood to comment.
“Please, oh, please stop,” Jerquee the coyote yipped and yelped in a shrill note. There were tears running from his eyes.
The flies and fleas had taken the opportunity to attack the eyes of the tiger, fox, wolf and coyote. Their eyes had naturally produced tears to clear the irritants and the tears were running down their faces.
“Cease the attack,” the order from a flea “but remain at your battle stations”. It was unbelievable that a flea could shout so loud and that from a strand of fur on Wyzel the wolf’s back and had commanded the fleas on the other animals also. Gradually the itching and scratching stopped so the four animals had a bit of peace.
“Get yourself together and look like the pride of the animals that you are supposed to be. You are a sorry looking lot and groom yourselves for you are an untidy bunch. Look at you who want to lead the animals crying tears like babies…..” the commands of the tick was interrupted by the giggle of young maggots, young ticks, lice and fleas. Tiger looked into wolf’s eyes and saw his reflection. He did not like what he saw so threateningly he growled, “I shall kill you for this.”
The ticks, flies, lice and fleas did not wait for an order but immediately went on the attack again and this time there was no one giving orders. The sole intention of the insects was to make the life of Ingor the tiger, Wyzel the wolf, Shyster the fox and Jerquee coyote miserable.  There was no let up until the four were lying exhausted from rolling, spinning, biting, scratching and doing whatever they could in order to get some relief. They had to hunt and share a meal then sleep before tiger could reconvene the meeting.
“This is not going the way I had hoped and what we needed is the assurance that you insects will not be spilling what we discuss in our meeting,” Ingor the tiger calmly and painstakingly said.
“You have our assurance,” the flea reassuringly said.
“How will that be?” Ingor the tiger asked.
“Presently we know where the most deadly diseases to man lay buried in the ground. Under the right conditions our numbers can swell into the millions in very little time. As soon as you give the okay we will tell you how to help increase our numbers and all you will need are animals who cooperate with you to transport us near man and we will do the rest. We have killed millions of man in this way in the past and we can do it again,” the flea answered.
“Is this the flea that called me deceptive talking? How can we be sure you will not infect us animals also? Shyster the fox asked.
“We live on you and get our sustenance from you why should we bite the hands that feed us?” the flea in turn asked. “The transmitting of information from the bird’s meeting was a breach of trust that shall not be repeated. Moreover thanks to you fox every animal who wants to get rid of lice, ticks and fleas now knows how to go about exterminating us,” The flea answered looking at Shyster the fox reproachfully.
“The next thing to be discussed is whether we can trust The Light Bearer?” Ingor the tiger asked.
“Personally I am a master of deception but The Light Bearer appears to be more deceptive than I am. I do not like anyone who can beat me at my own game. I do not know The Light Bearer’s agenda and who his supporters are and what it is that he have against man,” Shyster the fox laughed in a way that made him sound like Amozer the hyena.
“That may be information that we may have to get from Theldon the donkey or Elzer the ox and that is out of the question. Now I have become confused because I do not know if it is The Light Bearer that is uniting with us to fight against man or if it is us joining the forces of the Light Bearer to eradicate man,” Wyzel the wolf whined.
“The forces of The Light Bearer, does he have an army?” Jerquee the coyote asked Wyzel the wolf.
“Once I befriended a pig and in a moment of candid discussion he told me that The Light Bearer is the captain of a host of unseen beings. Numbers that went far beyond any number he or I could imagine,” Wyzel the wolf said.
“Whose side is pig on anyway?” Jerquee the coyote asked.
“Pig was never among those in the good graces of King El Olam but like dog he is beloved by man,” Wyzel the wolf answered.
“If we could get pig to side with us then these unseen beings that The Light Bearer have at his disposal can operate out of pig’s body, also we have enough dogs, jackals and coyotes ready to be infected with diseases and then be released among man. Things are presently not looking bad and I believe that the pig was right. What Wyzel the wolf said makes sense. The Light Bearer is looking for a place for himself and those that he commands to permanently reside. I believe we could share the earth with him and as of now the pigs are on our side,” Ingor the tiger said.
“The pigs are on our side just like that?” Jerquee the coyote asked Ingor tiger.
“Yes, because pig lives in the jungle and as king of the jungle whatever I say stand,” Ingor the tiger roared with finality.
“The third question that we must answer is this; can man be really defeated even with us and The Light Bearer joining forces?” Ingor the tiger asked.
“Yes, man can be defeated and this is where we need The Light Bearer because I understand that he is the author of confusion. He can spread confusion among man, we will have ticks, lice and fleas along with the dogs and jackals attack those who control man’s weapons of mass destruction. Man will actually destroy himself for us. We will have to find a place of safety to hide when it all starts,” Jerquee the coyote responded.
“You have a brilliant idea,” Ingor the tiger said and the others patted coyote on his shoulders to show their appreciation.
“It stand then that we are set and can proceed with our plans. We have the word and cooperation of the ticks, flies, fleas and lice. We can match wits with and outsmart The Light Bearer and man indeed can be defeated and made extinct. The thing for us to do then is to move forward,” Shyster the fox said.
Each animal looked into the eyes of the other for any sign of cowardice or betrayal but none of the four displayed any such sign. As a show of unity and support the four touched nozzle.

Chapter 13

Zythor the crocodile wondered at the significance of the dream that he had. In the dream he saw many birds and animals appearing before a judge and these were receiving medals for participating in their race but when he tried to join the line each time someone came and pushed him out of the line and took his place. This continued until there was no one else joining the line and still he could not get into the line. This dream disturbed Zythor the crocodile so much that that night when Uwarl the owl stopped by for a friendly chat Zythor the crocodile shared the dream with him.
Uwarl the owl considered for a while before asking Zythor the crocodile if he was sure that he did not have some unfinished task to get done. Zythor the crocodile though and then declared that all the assignments given to him by the birds and the  fishes had been completed and he had asked the other animals to train Porsker the boar for the upcoming fight with Geographic Man as the birds had suggested.
“What about when you visited the other realms, did you complete all the tasks given you by The Prince of Shalom?” Uwarl the owl asked Zythor the crocodile.
“Yes, oh no, I should have reported to the fish about my visit to the other realms and informed them that the Prince of Shalom has  sent the assurance that he is aware of our problems and will deal with the problems at his own pleasure,” Zythor the crocodile answered  Uwarl the owl.
“Well, that may be the answer to the meaning of your dream. Maybe your conscience is bothering you because you have not delivered the message or maybe it is you that is holding up the Prince of Shalom doing what he says. I would suggest that you stop fretting over the possible outcome of the battle between Geographic Man and Porsker the boar and concentrate on your responsibility to the fishes, the birds and the animals,” Uwarl the owl advised Zythor the crocodile.
“Will you please pass on the message that I am on my way for a meeting to the fishes for me?” Zythor the crocodile asked Uwarl the owl.
“It will be my pleasure,” Uwarl the owl responded to Zythor the crocodile.
It was only when Zythor the crocodile set out for the meeting with the fishes that  he found out that Dhovie the crocodile had anticipated that meeting and had been waiting for him for more than a week. Although Dhovie the crocodile swam beside him Zythor the crocodile thoughts and mind was on the fate of Porsker the boar when he lost the fight to Geographic Man. He was glad to have Dhovie the crocodile by his side although he did not speak much to her while they swam side by side. He was glad for the times when a solitary fish or a whole school of fish stopped by to exchange pleasantries.
It was the fishes that chose the places of the meetings and this time the scenery in the ocean was fabulously breath taking. Zythor the crocodile and Dhovie did not have time to enjoy the beauty of the scenery however because they arrived at midmorning and found the fishes ready and waiting for their arrival to begin the meeting. This was an easy thing for the fishes because the progress of Zythor and Dhovie the crocodiles was reported to the fishes gathered for the meeting and so the fishes knew the exact time that they would get to the meeting.
It was Abuther the whale shark that chaired this meeting of the fishes and he immediately made an unusual opening statement “I hope you will forgive me if I forego some of the formalities and rules of protocol but it is important for us to have this meeting and we cannot prolong the meeting as at other times. As this meeting progress you will understand why. Zythor the crocodile I am especially happy to see that you are not alone but had the foresight to take Dhovie the crocodile along with you. In light of certain developments I will take your report near the close of this meeting. Fishes all some time ago we the fishes proposed a meeting with man with the hope that such a meeting would stop the destruction and extinction of the animals, the birds, and also the fishes. The birds embraced our idea but divided man into three classes and decided to meet with each class of man. The animals in their meeting learned of the legendary man who was known as the lion lamb and they assigned Zythor the crocodile that we have here to if possible locate and meet with this man. This man the lion lamb man the animals believed could hold the solution to all of our problems. Zythor the crocodile will give us more information about that. We the fishes at our last meeting though it good if we could meet with all four and I will ask Petit the  sperm whale to give a report because we would like for this report to get back to the birds and  to the animals. I will ask petit the sperm whale to give his report now.”
Petit the whale looked shy as he began addressing the fishes, “We were just about to meet when Mnastion the great white shark alerted us to a serious disturbance in the ocean that was some distance away but approaching us. We sought to escape the disturbance but soon found ourselves being tossed around like leaves on a windy day by the waves. Then after a while the turbulence continued but there was calm in the middle of the turbulence which was where we were and then he began speaking to our minds. We knew that it was only The Invisible One that was capable of making this happen in the ocean and it was he who was speaking to us. He mildly rebuked us for some of what we had requested and also rebuked us for not appealing to our originator King El Olam. In the end he offered to present our concerns to King El Olam for us and this offer we gladly accepted”
The fishes had decided not to share this experience until they were together at a meeting where all the schools of fish in the general locality are welcome to attend the meeting. These fishes listened with open mouth as Petit the sperm  whale reported on this meeting  with The Invisible One and the fishes were shocked to learn that they were unaware of such an eventful thing happening.
Zythor the crocodile dearly wanted to ask questions of the fishes and indicated this but Abuther The whale shark indicated that the meeting had to proceed. Abuther the whale shark told the fishes that all the leaders among the fishes will be available to answer questions after the meeting. Then Abuther the whale called on Temmel the eel and Leppie the salmon to give their report.
It was Leppie the salmon that spoke, “We met and had conversation with Religious Man and we believe that he was a good choice by the birds. We are happy to report that the birds, the animals and the fishes have been seeing vast improvements in the way that we are treated by King El Olam’s subjects on the earth since the initial meeting of the birds with Religious Man.”
“I will now ask Mnastion the great white shark to give two quick reports,” Abuther the whale shark told the fishes at the meeting.
“My first meeting was with Nationalistic Man and that meeting went well. The birds had been able to convince him that his survival and that of his country was dependent on their survival and therefore it was up to him to convince the other countries to extend their protection to us. The preservation of the birds, the animals and us fishes is becoming an effort of many nations through the efforts of Nationalistic Man. My next meeting was with Geographic Man. The birds had met with this man and exacted a promise but he has failed to keep his promise so he was paid a visit by Jbosey the dolphin and me. I am sorry to have to report to you all that Geographic Man has not taken kindly to what we did to him and he has declared war on us. His primary targets will be Jbosey the dolphin and me. The rest I leave to Abuther the whale shark to inform the meeting,” Mnastion the great white shark said in giving his report.
Abuther the whale shark looked directly at Zythor the crocodile as he addressed him’ “I know that you have a lot to say and a lot of questions to ask but you do not have much time so you have to stick to the most important points although it was you that asked for this meeting.”
Zythor the crocodile got scared because this was not the norm at meetings of the fishes but he began, “Fish all at the end of our meeting which was not the most amicable of our meetings five of us were together when Porsker the boar saw The Light Bearer lurking in the area and he attacked The Light Bearer. Later that day we were visited by two men who told us that they were so pleased with that attack by Porsker the boar that they had begged for us to be given a visit to the other realms. I appreciate the assistance given by the fish when we were reported missing by now you all know where we were. You would all have heard by now that was where we were and there we met The Prince of Shalom. He has asked us to inform you the fishes that he is personally aware of our problems and that he will address our problems at his pleasure. My main reason for asking for this meeting was to deliver this message from The Prince of Shalom.”
Abuther the whale shark then spoke slowly and deliberately, “When Mnastion the great white shark and Jbosey the dolphin visited Geographic Man they could have destroyed or kill him once and for all but Geographic Man had heard of Porsker the boar and he has vowed to place him on the walls of his halls too as a trophy. They did not destroy Geographic Man because they felt it was necessary for Porsker the boar and Geographic Man to meet in battle. We sent the message on to the animals and for a time we got reports on the training of Porsker the boar but it stopped. These reports came via the birds but the birds reported that the training was so violent, bloody and dangerous that they could watch it no longer. Zythor the crocodile you are needed urgently by the birds and animals and you will be riding on the backs of the fastest fishes in the sea to get back home. Geographic Man has had a long time to familiarize himself with the location for the fighting to take place and Porsker the boar was transported there and ordered to immediately engage Geographic Man although he is totally unfamiliar with the place. The Light Bearer has aligned himself with Geographic Man and now has control of the mind of Geographic Man. I am afraid to tell you that the first thing Porsker the boar did in the place was to attack The Light Bearer who he caught off guard a second time. This has angered The Light Bearer and he went and demanded and got changes in the battle plans from the Prince of Shalom. Here are some of The Light Bearers conditions:
1.      Fighting will take place both during the day and sometimes during the night.
2.      Fighting will take place both inside and outside a designated area.
3.      There will be spectators. The Birds and the animals will be permitted to watch the fighting. There will also be special spectators as invited by The Light Bearer.
4.      Porsker the boar must do battle with old enemies and new ones selected by The Light Bearer.
5.      The light bearer will choose the opponents.
6.      Once fighting starts there shall not be any form of assistance for Porsker the boar including provision of food
7.      The last opponents Porsker the boar shall face if he survives shall be Geographic Man assisted by four hounds and their handlers.
8.      The Light Bearer shall choose the times of the fights and shall determine when fighting shall begin.

“What advantages has Porsker the boar got on his side?” Zythor the crocodile asked Abuther the whale shark.

“I do know for sure that The Light Bearer will ask that The Invisible One not be present at the fighting although he knows that The Invisible One cannot break his word. What you can do is ask The Invisible One’s counsel as to how to go about further preparing Porsker the boar to fight. In the meantime Porsker the boar I understand is back in training and you need to rejoin the animals and birds,” Abuther the whale shark told Zythor the crocodile.

The animal series

The time spent writing was long but very rewarding. Each new book I wrote brought new light to my understanding. It is now time for me to seriously promote and market my books. I certainly will need the help of my friends and well wishers. I will be focusing my attention mainly on two of my books;
AN EMPEROR FOR THE ANIMALS & THE CHAMPION OF THE ANIMALS.
These books will be part of a series and I have begun work on book III.
Find out what happens when the fishes, birds and animals plans to make man extinct and put in place their own supreme leader, an emperor in "AN EMPEROR FOR THE ANIMALS". Theldon the donkey has served man since the beginning of time and some animals and birds look to him for information about man, The State of Utopia and King El Olam.
                                                       AND
One man has not kept his promises to the fishes, birds and animals. Now the animals must train one of their own, a wild boar, to do battle with the man that is a most feared hunter and who want the wild boar preserved as a trophy. If "THE CHAMPION OF THE ANIMALS" loses the battle then the lives of many fishes, birds and animals are at stake. The champion of the animals is under the protection of the Great King and he must fight at a severe disadvantage while the feared hunter is getting supernatural assistance in the battle.
